Boys Boarding Schools
How about it guys? Would you like to go to school and just be yourself, socialize with other guys and not have to worry about impressing your female classmates? If this sounds good to you, a boys boarding school may be the answer.
They are not all military or parochial schools. Boarding school is much like a traditional school in the courses offered. In fact, many privately funded schools have better and more advanced facilities than public school.
The difference is that you do not go home at night. You will be in a dormitory setting, usually sharing a room with one or more other boys. Don't get too excited about the possibility of high jinks. There is supervision. You will not be permitted outside the residence without permission.
The smaller class size will allow you to get individual help more readily than in public school. That help is also available after school hours. The faculty is often comprised of teachers with advanced degrees. Naturally you can't get help at midnight, but after school tutoring is more the norm than the exception.
There are athletics, music, drama, art, and other activities to participate in after classes. Dormitories have separate study areas and common rooms for tv watching and games. Although internet access is generally limited to certain hours, there is no reason you cannot have daily contact with your family if you want it.
Boarding schools are ideal for children whose parents travel extensively or have demanding work schedules. How much nicer to be in a group setting with lots of friends than alone in the care of a nanny or housekeeper. Many kids who attend boarding schools form lasting friendships that continue throughout their lives.
Before you say no, visit a couple of schools. You may be pleasantly surprised.
